M57 ring nebula (12th October 2008)
Also known as NGC6720, this planetary nebula is located at Lyra -constellation, approximately 2300 light years away. Binoculars reveal it -in good conditions- to be little "plate" against the sky. Bigger telesopes (20...25cm) show the doughnut structure, and even the dim central star.
